London here I come

Leaving rural Ireland is fine…I will be back. Journey to return the rental car was fine. People are so nice and even when you did not have the correct forms, no problem, they’ll take care of it and they did. The Avis people got a big laugh at the fact that the man’s car I hit in Gort some three weeks ago is now an associate of mine on Linkedin. Definitely no hard feelings there, what a really nice man. I am now in Shannon, Ireland for the night and fly to London tomorrow morning for the International Communication Conference. Today will be a day to reflect on what I have written in the past 3 weeks (some 200 pages and counting) and mentally prepare myself for a big city with lots of people and no more cows, at least no cows mooing outside my bedroom window.

Coming to Ireland to write was one of the best decisions I have made recently. The quiet and solitude were worth it and forced me to work and not sight see. I got to know some of the people in Labane Village, Gort, Kinvarra, and Loughrea. I have been hugged, emailed, and invited back at no charge. I got a surprise visit to wish me well from one of the people I met along the way.  I have eaten good solid food, bad pizza, and gotten huge portions of beef, potatoes, carrots, peas and broccoli, so that one meal is actually three for me and costing only 10 euros. The travels have been good. I will be back.
