The journey began months ago when I proposed a travel journalism course in Zagreb, Croatia with my former master student, Alex Crevar. The course was accepted and we have planned a 3 week writing course for 12 students beginning May 16th. Alex lives in Sarajevo and has been in the Balkans for some 15 years making his living as a journalist and publishing in The New York Times and now is also travel editor for Paste Magazine. I am excited about visiting a part of the world I have never seen and seeing some it through this young man’s eyes and experience. I will share my travels with friends near and far through this site.
